LSU Baseball's Jaden Noot Enters Transfer Portal
LSU baseball is set to lose a skilled right-handed pitcher as Jaden Noot has declared his intention to enter the transfer portal. The portal opened on Monday, and Noot joins several other Tigers seeking new opportunities.
A redshirt junior in 2026, Noot dedicated four years to the LSU program. He played a role in both of Jay Johnson's national championship victories but redshirted in 2023 due to Tommy John surgery. In 2025, he contributed to LSU's championship-winning team, notably pitching during their dramatic 6-5 victory over Arkansas in the College World Series.
Over the past three seasons, Noot participated in 27 games, accumulating a 4.95 ERA across 40 innings. His innings pitched decreased significantly in 2026, where he managed just 9.1 innings after throwing 32.2 innings the previous year. With one year of eligibility left, Noot is now on the lookout for more playing time elsewhere.
His announcement marks him as the third LSU baseball player to enter the transfer portal on the same day. Noot, who had previously signed with LSU in 2022 despite being selected by the Milwaukee Brewers, was one of California's top pitching prospects when he graduated high school. Johnson leveraged his connections on the West Coast to bring Noot to Baton Rouge.
Following a disappointing 2026 season in which LSU missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011, Johnson and his coaching staff are expected to make significant changes to the roster.
