Mikal Bridges Celebrates Knicks Championship with Hilarious Instagram Rant

In a lively Instagram Live session, Mikal Bridges, the former Phoenix Suns forward now playing for the New York Knicks, let loose his excitement following the Knicks' NBA championship victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Although the atmosphere was filled with music, Bridges' spirited remarks on June 15 spoke volumes about his emotions and experiences.

Just two days after New York clinched the title, Bridges shared a drink and a series of anecdotes, including a playful jab at his former teammate Chris Paul. The two had been together on the Suns' roster during their run to the 2021 Finals. Bridges recalled a lighthearted moment when Paul sent him a Brooklyn Nets football helmet after his trade from Phoenix to Brooklyn for Kevin Durant in February 2023. "Shout out CP3, man," he exclaimed. "This (expletive) CP is a (expletive) troll, bro. A (expletive) get traded to Brooklyn and he gonna send me a helmet because (expletive) play football in the east... My vet, old (expletive)!"

Bridges, known as the NBA's Ironman for his impressive streak of consecutive games played, humorously showcased the helmet during his rant. Chris Paul, who spent three seasons with Bridges in Phoenix, was traded to the Washington Wizards in June 2023, later moving to the Golden State Warriors, and eventually signing with the Spurs and Clippers in the following years before retiring in February 2026.

Knicks All-Star Jalen Brunson chimed in on X, jokingly suggesting, "Somebody take Mikal's phone," following Bridges' enthusiastic impressions of him as the Finals MVP. Bridges also credited Brunson's determination to prove skeptics, referencing Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon’s remarks about his height and role as a leader.

Karl-Anthony Towns, another Knicks All-Star, praised Bridges' energetic monologue, calling it an "all-time great IG Live." The Knicks' championship win marked the end of a lengthy title drought, highlighted by a remarkable playoff run featuring a historic 13-game winning streak and an impressive point differential of 282.
