Misleading Image Circulates Purporting to Show Karmelo Anthony in Court

A viral image claiming to depict Karmelo Anthony weeping in court has been confirmed as a fabrication. During the recent trial involving the NBA player, strict regulations prohibited any photography within the courtroom, resulting in no legitimate images from the proceedings.

The misleading post surfaced on X, shared by the user @Honeys_Money1, with the caption, "I wish I could hug him 🥲🥲 life man." However, a fact-check has revealed that the hairstyle of the individual in the image does not align with Anthony's appearance at the time of the trial. A mugshot released by Collin County jail on June 9, 2026, shows Anthony with closely cropped hair, consistent with courtroom sketches, rather than the medium-length dreadlocks featured in the viral image.

This misinformation comes in the wake of Judge John Roach Jr.'s ruling, which banned cameras, live streams, and audio recordings in the courtroom to maintain the integrity of the trial. In addition, a designated security perimeter was established to prevent public gatherings outside the courthouse, while a gag order was placed on those involved in the case, restricting public commentary.
