Multiple Sixers take to Instagram to praise VJ Edgecombe for selection

Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe was named to the All-Rookie First Team following a terrific maiden season where he averaged 16.0 points as a young player next to Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Paul George. It was an impressive showing for such a young player on a veteran-laden roster.

Edgecombe has received praise from his teammates all season long. His poise has been one of the more impressive aspects of his game due to the obvious lack of experience. No matter what was going on in terms of the game, no matter if he was struggling or anything of that nature, he always came up big for this group.

After being selected, his teammates took to Instagram. Sixers teammates Andre Drummond, Tyrese Maxey, and Jabari Walker all shared something on their IG stories to congratulate Edgecombe on his success.

Edgecombe averaged 18.9 points on 45.5% shooting, 5.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.2 steals in 13 March contests on his way to earning the first Rookie of the Month honor of his career. One has to believe this will be the first of many honors for the young guard out of Baylor.
