Nagelsmann Responds to Klopp's Apology Ahead of World Cup Match
Julian Nagelsmann, head coach of Germany's national team, is gearing up for their upcoming match against Cote d'Ivoire in the 2026 World Cup. Prior to this, attention has shifted to comments made by Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Müller regarding Nagelsmann and the team's performance.
In light of the recent discussions, Nagelsmann took the opportunity to address the situation, particularly Klopp's remarks. "I did not expect an apology from Jürgen Klopp for his comments, but he apologized and that's it for me," he stated. He emphasized that he values focusing on his team's preparation rather than getting caught up in external chatter. "As some of my players have already said, I also don't listen to everybody talking about our team. That's not possible and not healthy," he added.
Klopp had lightheartedly commented on Nagelsmann's tenure with the German team following the World Cup and expressed doubts about whether player Jamal Musiala should be included in the starting lineup for the first match. Following these remarks, Klopp reached out to Nagelsmann to offer an apology, leading to a calm and respectful discussion between the two.
