Osani Gayles Poised to Join Washington Huskies' 2027 WR Cohort

Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies are on the lookout for outstanding wide receivers to bolster their young, developing roster. With four pass-catchers already committed to the 2027 recruiting class, four-star prospect Osani Gayles from IMG Academy is visiting Seattle this weekend, potentially becoming the fifth four-star receiver in this year's lineup.

Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 185 pounds, Gayles fits the profile of a slot receiver, yet possesses the skills, agility, and speed necessary to excel in any receiving position, which will be advantageous for Fisch and wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings. Originally from California, Gayles had a modest season in 2025 at IMG Academy, where he recorded 20 catches for 492 yards and five touchdowns.

His impressive speed, highlighted by a 10.7-second 100-meter dash during his freshman year at St. Mary's High School in Stockton, California, positions him well within Fisch's offensive strategy. Beyond a typical wide receiver role, Gayles can also serve as a scat-back, reminiscent of former four-star recruit Jordan Washington, now a redshirt sophomore running back for the Huskies.

With the recent commitments of tall receivers Braylon Pope from Sumner, Washington, and Tre Moore from Pflugerville, Texas, along with versatile Dontay Tyson from Peoria, Arizona, and Zerek Sidney, another dynamic pass-catcher from Desert Edge, Gayles' addition would further enhance Washington's 2027 class, creating a formidable offensive lineup.

Prior to his trip to Seattle, Gayles had official visits to Stanford and Alabama, and he has plans for upcoming visits to Tennessee and Notre Dame. A decision regarding his future is anticipated shortly after June 27.
