The Colorado Rockies have not been a team to write home about for quite some time. They haven't been to the postseason since the 2018 season, and they are just one of a handful of teams that have yet to win a World Series title.
Some of their lackluster history comes from their situation. They don't have the biggest payroll and have a hard time adding star players, whether that be hitters or pitchers, with their high altitude stadium.
So, this team has to rely on their farm system and add players that might be past their prime. However, this season has been a much different story in Colorado.

The Rockies are coming off a week where they went 4-3. They lost a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, took one of three games from the San Diego Padres, and then swept the New York Mets in a three-game series.
Putching was extremely helpful in their sweep of the Mets, per Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller, who has bumped the Rockies from No. 20 last week to No. 17 this week.
"Not only did the Rockies sweep the Mets, but they did it with pitching. Michael Lorenzen, Jose Quintana and Chase Dollander went a combined 19.1 innings against the extremely well-compensated Mets lineup and held them to just two runs. Who knows where this story goes from here, but 13-16 through 29 games is quite the improvement from sitting 4-25 at this juncture one year ago."
The sweep against the Mets proved to be big, especially if they struggle this week. They don't have the easiest schedule, taking on the Cincinnati Reds and then the NL East first-place Atlanta Braves over the weekend, which will surely test them.
