Senior Women's National Team Training Brings Together Future Stars in Itu

The Senior Women’s National Team kicked off their training camp in Itu, São Paulo, with a focus on integrating youth and senior players under coach Arthur Elias’s renowned man-marking tactics. This initial session saw players split into three groups, allowing for tailored coaching and feedback, facilitated by youth team coaches Camilla Orlando and Bia Vaz.

Arthur highlighted the significance of this training opportunity, noting, “The calendar is tight and there are many commitments; every year there is a South American Championship and a World Cup for both categories. Their participation was very important for today’s planning and training session. It is an important moment of integration with the group.” This gathering comes outside the FIFA international window, making it a unique chance for collaboration.

Alongside Orlando, fresh from a series of friendlies in Portugal with the Under-20 team, and Vaz, who leads the Under-15 squad, several other youth national team staff members joined the camp. This includes Gabriel Mastrodomenico, manager of the Youth Teams, and performance analyst Mateus Junio. Orlando expressed the value of this experience, saying, “It is a moment of great exchange and learning. To increasingly understand Arthur’s style of play, the staff’s work, and the preparation of training.”

Vaz is eager to implement what she learns this week, as she prepares the Under-15 National Team for the Liga Evolución in Paraguay, scheduled for September. "In the meetings, we have the opportunity to listen to what the coaches share, how they think about the game, how they divide the information and pass it on to the players," she said.

Out of the 29 players participating in the five-day training evaluation, many are newcomers to the senior team, with only 11 having more than five caps under their belt. Among the debutants are Nicole, Tayla, Serrana, Andressa Alves, and Clarinha. The blend of emerging talent and seasoned players, such as Adriana and Antonia, was made possible thanks to the cooperation from their clubs.
