Serie A Teams Eye Loan Move for Promising Goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara

Young goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara, who has impressed during his loan spell at Avellino, is attracting interest from several clubs in Serie A for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The 21-year-old, a product of Juventus' youth academy, had a standout season in Serie B, marking a significant step in his development.

Reports indicate that top-flight teams Udinese, Cagliari, and Lecce are keen on securing Daffara’s services on loan, as well as recently-relegated Pisa. While the latter option may seem surprising given Daffara's successful tenure in Serie B, his potential for advancement remains a priority for many clubs.

Avellino is expected to exercise their option to purchase Daffara this summer, but Juventus holds a buy-back clause, which suggests that this move is primarily a financial strategy to ensure the club benefits from his time there. Daffara is also likely to renew his contract with Juventus, which could see him included in Luciano Spalletti’s squad for the pre-season tour to Australia and Hong Kong.

Last month, Daffara received his first call-up to Italy's senior national team, part of an experimental squad under interim coach Silvio Baldini. Although he did not get a chance to play, this recognition capped off a productive season, during which he started 25 matches for Avellino. He recorded a save percentage of 67.3%, allowing 39 goals while facing 104 shots on target and achieving three clean sheets.

As Daffara's career progresses, the interest from Serie A clubs signals a promising future for the young goalkeeper, potentially paving the way for a return to Juventus on a more permanent basis in the near future.
