St. Joseph Goats Dominate Iowa Woo with 74-22 Victory

CEDAR FALLS, Ia. (News-Press NOW) — The St. Joseph Goats extended their impressive winning streak with a commanding 74-22 victory against the Iowa Woo on the road. This matchup took place on Saturday, June 13, at the UNI-Dome, with the Goats arriving with a 2-0 record while the Woo struggled at 0-2.

Making his debut as the starting quarterback, Josh White replaced the injured Angelo Trujillo. White showcased his skills by passing for 258 yards, achieving seven touchdowns, and recording two interceptions during the game.

Wide receiver Boo Smith was a standout performer, accumulating 92 receiving yards and catching two touchdown passes. In addition to his receiving contributions, Smith also threw two touchdown passes. Running back Malik Wilson added to the scoreboard with a rushing touchdown, gaining 38 yards on the ground.

The Iowa Woo faced challenges throughout the game, committing four turnovers, all resulting from interceptions by quarterback Vernon Sharp. In contrast, the Goats finished the game with only two turnovers, both attributed to White’s interceptions. The Woo did manage to score one defensive touchdown.

Looking ahead, the Goats will face a tough opponent in the 3-0 Nebraska Siege at Civic Arena on Saturday, June 20, where only one team will maintain its undefeated status.
