The Texas Tech softball team has made a significant addition by signing the nation's top hitter through the transfer portal. Moriah Polar, an outfielder from Purdue, announced her commitment to join the Red Raiders on Sunday evening via social media.

Polar hails from Pearland and boasts an impressive collegiate career, highlighted by her remarkable .555 batting average in 2026, which led all players in the nation. Her outstanding performance earned her third-team All-American recognition from the NFCA. During her junior year, she recorded 101 hits, scored 67 runs, drove in 47 RBIs, and hit 14 doubles.

With one year of eligibility remaining, Polar is poised to make a substantial impact on the Texas Tech roster. This announcement follows the Red Raiders' ongoing efforts to strengthen their team through the transfer portal, including the recent acquisition of a pitcher from LSU.
