Vikings Expand Front Office with New Assistant General Managers

The Minnesota Vikings are enhancing their front office by bringing on Andrew Healy and Trent Kirchner as assistant General Managers, according to a report by Alec Lewis from TheAthletic.com. This move comes under the leadership of newly appointed General Manager Nolan Teasley. Existing assistant GM Ryan Grigson is anticipated to remain with the organization in a different capacity.

Healy arrives from the Cleveland Browns, where he held the position of vice president of research and strategy. Joining the Browns in 2016 as a senior player personnel staff member, he played a key role in developing innovative strategies for player evaluation, game strategies, and draft assets. Healy boasts a Ph.D. in economics from MIT and has experience as an economics professor at Loyola Marymount University.

Kirchner, who has a long-standing professional relationship with Teasley, comes to the Vikings from the Seattle Seahawks, where the two worked together for 13 years. Kirchner’s most recent role was vice president of player personnel, a title he earned in 2020. Before that, he served as co-director of player personnel for five years and was the team’s pro personnel director for two seasons.

This restructuring follows the Vikings' decision to part ways with several front office members, including assistant GM Demitrius Washington and senior personnel executive Jamaal Stephenson, among others. The changes reflect a significant shift in the organization's approach as they prepare for future seasons.
