Washington Huskies Eye Top Cornerback Kamil Loud Following Commitment of Chaz Gray

Following the recent commitment of four-star edge rusher Chaz Gray to the Washington Huskies, four-star cornerback Kamil Loud remains the only prospect from that weekend visit who has yet to make a pledge to Jedd Fisch's 2027 recruiting class. With the latest update from 247Sports and adjustments to his visit plans, the task ahead for secondary coach John Richardson has grown more challenging.

Loud, a 6-foot, 170-pound standout from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, has seen his national ranking soar, now sitting at No. 212 overall and No. 26 among cornerbacks. With an impressive array of 22 offers, he has narrowed his choices to a top six that includes Auburn, California, Florida State, Miami, and Utah. He has already scheduled official visits with the Golden Bears for June 11 and the Seminoles for June 19.

As the Huskies aim to bolster their defensive backfield after a strong 2026 recruiting class, which included four-star safety Gavin Day and cornerbacks Rahsjon Duncan and Jeron Jones, Loud is viewed as an ideal fit for the team's needs. "His feet are quick and crisp while mirroring routes, and he shows great awareness of route combinations and when the ball is coming out," noted Alex Katson from Huskies Wire in his assessment of Loud's performance on tape.

Additionally, Loud possesses good length, allowing him to engage effectively with receivers while maintaining discipline to avoid penalties. His ability to disrupt opposing receivers’ routes consistently makes him a challenging matchup for quarterbacks.

Currently, the Huskies have secured two commitments for their secondary: four-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava and three-star cornerback Maurice Williams, as they continue to build a formidable defensive lineup.
