Where Florida baseball ranks in national polls heading into postseason
Florida baseball closed out the regular season ranked in every national poll.
The Gators (37-18, 18-12 SEC) swept LSU to close SEC action as Florida totaled 37 runs over the weekend and hit 10 home runs against the Tigers.
In the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Gators moved to No. 17. Nine other SEC teams were featured in the poll with four, including in the top 10.
In the D1baseball.com rankings, Florida moved from No. 19 to No. 18, while remaining at No. 9 in the Baseball America's rankings. In Perfect Game, the Gators also improved from No. 18 to No. 14.
As of May 18, Florida’s rating percentage index (RPI), which is used to judge strength of schedule, stands at No. 11. The Gators are 14-6 when facing top 25 teams, and hold 15 Quadrant 1 victories, which is tied for the third most in the country.
