Alabama Football Secures Commitment from Tight End Michael Nnabuife, Flipping from Syracuse
In a significant move for its 2027 recruiting class, Alabama football has successfully flipped Michael Nnabuife, a three-star tight end from Baltimore, who previously committed to Syracuse. Nnabuife announced his decision to switch allegiance to the Crimson Tide via Alabama's name, image, and likeness collective. He had been a commitment to the Orange since May 20.
Nnabuife marks the seventh addition to Alabama's 2027 recruiting lineup, which also features Oakley Keegan, a fellow three-star tight end from New York. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 242 pounds, Nnabuife is anticipated to be a "true Y projection," according to 247Sports. His skill set could complement existing talent like Keegan and four-star Mack Sutter, who is part of the 2026 class.
Ranked as the 1,028th player overall and the 53rd tight end in the 2027 class by 247Sports' composite rankings, Nnabuife brings significant potential to the Alabama program. The team's 2027 recruiting class now includes:
- Elijah Haven: Quarterback, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
- Oakley Keegan: Tight end, Liverpool, New York
- Colt Lumpris: Tight end, Lawrenceville, New Jersey
- Nigel Newkirk: Running back, Gainesville, Georgia
- Michael Nnabuife: Tight end, Baltimore
- Avrian Pauley: Defensive line, Mobile, Alabama
- Trent Seaborn: Quarterback, Alabaster, Alabama
- Stevan Thornton III: Edge, Cairo, Georgia
- Kenneth Simon II: Linebacker, Brentwood, Tennessee
