Brian Urlacher Criticizes Illinois Democrats Over Bears Relocation

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has expressed his thoughts on the team's potential move to Indiana, attributing blame to Illinois Democrats. In a video clip shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Urlacher stated, “You know, you look at all the money they’ve given to illegal immigrants and the money they’ve set aside for — that’s like two and a half, $3 billion that they’ve spent on the illegal immigrants.”

He suggested that these funds could have been utilized to retain the Bears in Chicago, rather than supporting what he views as misplaced priorities. “That money could be, you know, could be for the Bears, could be trying to keep them, not for the Bears, but trying to keep their stadium in town instead of keeping people aren’t supposed to be in our country here,” he added.

Urlacher, a supporter of former President Donald Trump, expressed hope that Trump might intervene in the situation. “Anything that President Trump does, I’m on board with,” he remarked. He acknowledged uncertainty about whether Trump would be able to influence the outcome, stating, “He is smart about everything he does, business-wise and, you know, he’s a pretty sports-savvy guy as well, but I’m not sure he could have any impact on that.”

It is important to note that Urlacher did not provide evidence for his claims regarding the allocation of funds by Illinois Democrats. Additionally, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has voiced his dissatisfaction with the ongoing negotiations, indicating reluctance to utilize taxpayer dollars to keep the Bears in Chicago.
