DeLand Welcomes Kyle Marsh as New Baseball Coach

DeLand High School has officially appointed Kyle Marsh, previously the baseball coach at Flagler Palm Coast, to lead its baseball program, as announced by athletic director Lance Jenkins in a press release dated June 10.

"We are excited to welcome Kyle Marsh to the DeLand High School community," Jenkins stated. "Kyle has demonstrated a remarkable track record of success both as a player and as a coach. He comes from a tremendous coaching pedigree with strong baseball bloodlines, and his experiences have prepared him to lead one of the premier programs in our area."

Marsh transitions to DeLand after dedicating five seasons to Flagler Palm Coast, where he guided the Bulldogs from 2022 to 2026. He steps in to fill the role left by former head coach Zach Spivey, who departed during the offseason. During his tenure at Flagler Palm Coast, Marsh led the team to three regional playoff appearances and secured both the district championship in 2023 and the Five Star Conference title in 2024. A former standout pitcher at Spruce Creek High School, Marsh was named the 2012 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year, boasting an impressive 11-0 record and a 0.35 ERA. He played college baseball at UCF and Embry-Riddle.

Returning to Volusia County was a significant factor for Marsh in making this decision. "For me, it was a hard decision," he remarked to the News-Journal. "I built a culture at FPC over five years, so it was tough to leave. However, after reflecting on everything, I felt it was the right time for a change that would benefit my personal life." Last season, Flagler Palm Coast concluded with a 16-11 record, while DeLand finished at 12-13.
