Dorman baseball state championship series vs James Island altered due to weather
Dorman baseball has postponed its state championship series with James Island, the school announced on May 26.
The decision was made due to bad field conditions and the threat of inclement weather.
Originally, Game 1 was set to take place on May 26 at Dorman, and Game 2 on May 28 at James Island. If necessary, Game 3 was set for May 30 at a neutral site.
Now, Game 1 will take place May 28 at 7 p.m. at Dorman, and Game 2 will be played May 29 at 7 p.m. at James Island. If necessary, Game 3 will be on May 30 at a neutral site, and a time has not been determined.
Dorman swept Spartanburg 2-0 in the Upper State finals. The Cavaliers last won a championship 2018.
Several state championship games and series have been effected by weather delays throughout the Upstate. Byrnes softball had a two-hour delay in its Game 1 loss to Summerville on May 25.
