Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Isaiahh Loudermilk signed with the Minnesota Vikings, as announced by the team on Thursday.

The Steelers selected Loudermilk in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 156th overall pick. Over five seasons in Pittsburgh, he played in 60 games, starting in seven, and recorded 63 combined tackles and one sack.

Loudermilk only appeared in two games last season after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, which ultimately led to season-ending surgery.

The Vikings are beefing up their defensive line as they look to bounce back and secure a playoff spot after missing out last season. Minnesota competes in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, the NFC North, where it has to face talented quarterbacks like Jared Goff, Jordan Love and Caleb Williams. It's crucial to have enough guys who can pressure these quarterbacks, and that's where they hope Loudermilk can step in and make an impact.

Pittsburgh will not face Minnesota this season, as the Steelers will play all four teams from the NFC South, along with the Philadelphia Eagles, as their other NFC opponent.
