Good Morning, Illini Nation: Post-combine mock draft update
May 16—Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman dropped the first post-combine NBA mock draft I came across this week. included a pair of Illinois guards albeit projected in different spots.
Notably, that twosome doesn't include Andrej Stojakovic. The could-be Illini senior is committed to the pre-draft process, but could still return to Champaign for one more season. Keaton Wagler and Kylan Boswell, however, were included.
A shakeup in Wasserman's mock has Wagler going No. 7 to the Sacramento Kings. Coincidentally, I appeared on SacTown Sports 1140 AM earlier this week on the "Matt & Kayla Show" discussing Wagler.

"Keaton Wagler figures to be highly attractive in the No. 5-9 range with his crafty creation, special shotmaking, high IQ and adaptable game," Wasserman wrote. "In Sacramento, Wagler could earn immediate reps as a lead guard."
Boswell, who Wasserman compared to former 14-year pro Cory Joseph, just stayed in Bleacher Report's updated mock draft going No. 58 to the New Orleans Pelicans. Wasserman wrote that Boswell "makes smart decisions and adds a sense of leadership." That's two non-basketball specific traits that could help him land on a team come June.
