Hurricanes Fans Gather to Celebrate Team's Arrival Ahead of Game 5

Supporters of the Carolina Hurricanes flocked to Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Wednesday evening to greet the team as they returned home before Game 5 at the Lenovo Center. Chopper 11 captured the moment the players' plane touched down, with fans eagerly gathered on the observation deck, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite athletes.

Among the enthusiastic crowd was JD Loftis, who brought his two sons to witness the team's arrival. "We love the Hurricanes," Loftis expressed, emphasizing how his family has been fully engaged throughout the Stanley Cup Final. "We've been watching every single one of the Stanley Cup Final games," he added, recalling the excitement of last night’s game. "My son here was going crazy. We love it."

Another attendee, John Wolfe, was not only there to support the Hurricanes but also to cheer on his brother, who piloted the plane that brought the team home. "I was at home, and he sent me the text of the flight plan, and I said, 'Is this what? Is this what it looks like?'" Wolfe shared, beaming with pride as he spoke about the experience. "There's nobody I trust as my pilot more than my brother," he remarked, highlighting the significance of the moment.

Fans filled the streets near the airport, waving flags and chanting in celebration as the Hurricanes continue their playoff journey. "We're just super excited to be a part of this," said supporter Amy Levering. "They worked so hard and so long to get to this place. And we just want them to know that they have our full support," she added, conveying the community's enthusiasm ahead of the matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday in Raleigh.
