Mac Jones Responds Humorously to George Kittle's Praise
Quarterback Mac Jones recently made headlines by expressing his desire to remain with the San Francisco 49ers next season, surprising some who thought he might seek a trade for a starting position elsewhere. However, tight end George Kittle was not among the surprised. On a recent episode of FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams,” Kittle praised Jones, highlighting his positive attitude and camaraderie with the team.
Kittle described Jones as “a juice guy” who brings an abundance of energy and enthusiasm to the locker room. “He’s always down to hang out with the boys and just support [us],” Kittle added. He emphasized that despite typically not being the case for quarterbacks, Jones is cherished by his teammates. Kittle credited Jones for his hard work and significant contributions last season, noting that his efforts were crucial in leading the 49ers to the playoffs.
After hearing Kittle’s remarks, Jones shared his appreciation on social media, responding with a lighthearted message. “Thanks Georgie. Send me your Venmo, I’ll get you that PR consultant retainer fee sent over shortly. 😂😂😂 #GlueGuy,” he wrote on X, demonstrating his playful rapport with Kittle.
Jones, who signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the 49ers last offseason, served as Brock Purdy's backup, starting eight games and achieving five wins. His performance, which included 2,151 passing yards and a career-high 97.4 passer rating, generated interest from other teams, with some analysts suggesting the 49ers could have received a second-round pick in trade offers. However, Jones opted to remain with the 49ers.
