Miami Hurricanes Secure 5-Star EDGE Jaiden Bryant from LSU

Since Lane Kiffin took the reins as head coach of the LSU Tigers, the team has experienced considerable success. However, on the recruiting front, they faced a significant setback when the Miami Hurricanes managed to sway one of their top commitments. On Wednesday evening, 5-star edge rusher Jaiden Bryant announced his decision to switch his commitment from LSU to Miami.

Ranked as the No. 20 player and the No. 2 EDGE in the 2027 recruiting class, Bryant had been committed to LSU since January 3, shortly after Kiffin’s arrival in Baton Rouge. With Bryant's commitment, Miami now boasts the No. 3 recruiting class for 2027, further solidifying their position in the competitive landscape. Earlier this spring, the Hurricanes also flipped 5-star cornerback Donte Wright from the Georgia Bulldogs, indicating a successful recruiting strategy under head coach Mario Cristobal.

In a statement to Rivals, Bryant confirmed, “I’m officially shutting down my recruitment and won’t be taking any more official visits.” His decision represents a considerable loss for LSU, which now finds itself with the No. 61 recruiting class in the current cycle. While there is still time before signing day, Kiffin is known for his adeptness in utilizing the transfer portal, yet the Tigers will need to make significant strides in recruiting to regain momentum.

This development highlights the fierce competition in college football recruiting, where programs are constantly vying for top talent. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on how both Miami and LSU adapt to these changes in their recruiting strategies.
