Mike Brown Lauds Mitch Johnson’s Coaching Skills with a Touch of Humor
In a recent conversation, Mike Brown shared high praise for fellow coach Mitch Johnson, playfully acknowledging his own coaching journey. Brown stated, "He's lightyears in front of me. He's a way better coach than I was when I was a young guy." His admiration for Johnson's accomplishments as a coach was clear, describing his work as "fantastic" and "second to none."
Brown emphasized the invaluable support Johnson receives from seasoned players like Popovich, Manu Ginóbili, Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and Sean Elliott. He noted that their presence not only provides guidance but also serves to uplift Johnson during challenging moments. "To have that support system around with the knowledge that he has already as a young coach is phenomenal," Brown added.
While acknowledging Johnson's impressive credentials and current role, Brown humorously remarked on their college backgrounds, saying, "The only thing is, I think even though he went to Stanford, I went to University of San Diego, better player than him, that might be the only advantage I have, but we're not playing." This lighthearted comment reflects the camaraderie and respect between the two coaches.
