NFL Receivers Eye Big Extensions Following Drake London's Major Deal
Drake London has joined the ranks of NFL receivers securing lucrative contracts, as the Atlanta Falcons have signed him to a substantial four-year extension worth $141.5 million. This deal, which will keep him with the team until the conclusion of the 2030 NFL season, positions London as one of the highest-paid receivers in the league with an average annual value (AAV) of $35.25 million, ranking him third behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja'Marr Chase.
The 25-year-old's impressive performance in the 2025 season, where he recorded 68 receptions for 919 yards and seven touchdowns, followed a breakout year in 2024 when he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the first time. With London now off the market, attention turns to other wide receivers who may benefit from his contract as a benchmark for their own extensions.
Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams is among those positioned for a significant payday. Selected in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Nacua emerged as a top performer in 2025, leading the league with 129 catches for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning him a spot on the All-Pro first team. However, his offseason has been marred by legal troubles and a stint in rehab, which could complicate negotiations for an extension.
Meanwhile, George Pickens of the Dallas Cowboys is currently set to play under the franchise tag for the 2026 season after an outstanding year that saw him achieve career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. The Cowboys face a tough decision regarding a long-term deal due to their salary cap situation, as they are already committed to CeeDee Lamb's substantial contract.
Chris Olave from the New Orleans Saints is another receiver in line for an extension. Coming off a season with standout numbers, Olave has consistently been a reliable target for his team. However, past concussion issues may influence the discussions regarding his next contract. Overall, with the offseason heating up, the focus remains on which wide receiver will follow London in securing a hefty extension.
