Odell Beckham Jr. Moves Closer to NFL Return with Giants Workout

Odell Beckham Jr. is on the verge of making a return to the NFL, as he prepares to work out with the New York Giants, according to insider Jordan Schultz. This comes after a lengthy absence from the league, having last played in 2024. The potential reunion with the Giants marks an unexpected turn of events for the former All-Pro wide receiver.

The Giants recently faced a setback when wide receiver Gunner Olszewski suffered a torn Achilles, prompting the team to consider bringing Beckham Jr. back into the fold. The 33-year-old wideout previously spent his first five seasons with the Giants after being drafted 12th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Beckham Jr.'s last appearance in an NFL game was on December 8, 2024, while he was with the Miami Dolphins, who released him shortly thereafter. If he takes the field for the Giants in Week 1, it would mark 644 days since his most recent game action.

During his brief stint with the Dolphins, Beckham Jr. recorded just nine receptions for 55 yards across nine games. His career totals, however, are impressive, with 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns over a ten-year span, primarily during his time in New York, where he accumulated 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in 59 games.

If signed, Beckham Jr. would join a receiving group that features recent draftees Malachi Fields and Malik Nabers, as well as free agent Darnell Mooney. Last season, the Giants ranked 21st in passing yards per game, and their leading receiver, Wandale Robinson, has since signed with the Tennessee Titans.
