O’Shaquie Foster Defeats Raymond Ford, Calls Out Shakur Stevenson in Post-Fight Clash

O’Shaquie Foster successfully defended his WBC super featherweight title with a decisive majority decision victory over Raymond Ford in Houston. The judges scored the bout 116-112 and 118-110 in favor of Foster, while one judge had it even at 114-114. Foster’s performance was also backed by unofficial cards from Bad Left Hook, which favored him at 115-113 and 117-111.

The fight began with drama as Foster threw Ford out of the ring in the opening round, a moment that followed a tense build-up between the fighters. Fortunately for Ford, he was able to recover quickly and continue without injury. Throughout the match, Ford (18-2-1, 8 KOs) remained competitive, but he struggled with stamina in the later rounds, allowing Foster (25-3, 12 KOs) to take control and solidify his win.

Following the conclusion of the match, tensions flared in the ring as Foster and Shakur Stevenson, a friend of Ford, exchanged heated words. Foster expressed his desire to face Stevenson next, despite the fact that Stevenson has been competing at 140 pounds while Foster remains at 130. However, Foster indicated that he is willing to make adjustments for a lucrative matchup. “I told the son (Ford) that I was gonna get the daddy (Stevenson) next, and that’s who I want,” he stated during an interview with DAZN’s Chris Mannix.

Foster reflected on his performance, saying, “He was a little sharper early, but I knew I was going to start picking him apart.” He emphasized his adaptability in the ring, asserting, “I’m one of the smartest people in this ring, and all I needed to do was adjust.”

In addition to Stevenson, Foster is open to a unification bout with Emanuel Navarrete if a fight with Stevenson does not materialize. “If I can’t get Shakur next, hopefully me and Navarrete can do it, but y’all know who I want,” he said. Foster even expressed his willingness to meet Stevenson at a different weight, stating, “If he wants to meet at 135, whatever he wants to do, let’s do it.”
