Parkston's Landon Weber Earns Runner-Up Spot at SDGA Junior Tour in Madison

MADISON, S.D. — Landon Weber from Parkston finished in second place, leading the contingent of Mitchell-area golfers during the South Dakota Golf Association Junior Tour event at Madison Country Club on Thursday. Most age groups completed nine holes during the competition.

Weber, competing in the boys' 16-18 category, carded a score of 1-over-38 on the back nine. Lincoln McInerney from Brandon took first place in the same age group with an even-par score of 37. Rounding out the top five were Brady Kirch from Rock Rapids, Iowa, Brookings' Andrew Heinze, and Jack Schettler from Sioux City, Iowa, all of whom shot 2-over-39.

In the 9-and-under girls division, Zoey Zeigler from Winner claimed victory with a score of 47, while Salem’s Marney Heisinger finished in second with a 59. Morli Miles from Mitchell took fourth place with a score of 66.

Mitchell's Kendall Aadland secured second in the girls' 12-13 division, finishing with a 59, just behind Aberdeen's Aubree DeVine, who won with a score of 58. Jack Gillen from Mitchell finished third in the intermediate boys' 12-13 division, shooting a 40, while Jameson Stevens from Sioux Falls won with a score of 38 after a tiebreaker.

In other divisions, Berkli Miles from Mitchell placed third in the 10-11 girls' category with a score of 59, and Ella Leighton, also from Mitchell, finished fourth with a 63. Neva Johnson from Sioux Falls won this division with a score of 51. In the boys' 10-11 division, Brooks Aadland from Mitchell finished fourth with a score of 51 as Brookings' Logan Baszler claimed first with a 39.

Emma Reinesch from Mitchell came in fifth in the girls' 14-15 division with an 18-hole score of 103, while Brynlee Baedke from Vermillion won with a 92. This was the only category that played 18 holes on Thursday. Upcoming events include the SDGA Sanford Series on June 8-9 in Yankton and Dakota Dunes, with the next Junior Tour stop scheduled for June 11 in Brandon.
