Pete Crow-Armstrong explained why he had a heated exchange with White Sox fan
It's not quite Yankees-Red Sox or Dodgers-Giants, but the Cubs and White Sox do have themselves a crosstown rivalry. And with the White Sox off to a competitive start this season, fans are actually getting behind the South Siders.
Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong was almost taken aback by that.
During the fifth inning of Sunday's game at Rate Field, Miguel Vargas hit a two-run double that went beyond a leaping Crow-Armstrong's glove. As the Cubs centerfielder got back to his feet in the warning track, a woman wearing a White Sox hat shouted something at Crow-Armstrong.
The Cubs star didn't ignore what was said. He yelled back at the fan.

According to White Sox and Cubs reporter Jesse Rogers, Crow-Armstrong said he decided to just talk back to the fan's heckles.
"Some lady decided to start talking (expletive) and I felt the need to say it back."
The fan claimed to be attending an engagement party in the seats beyond the wall on ground level.

There was also another NSFW exchange where Crow-Armstrong shouted at a fan from the on-deck circle.
The Cubs ended up losing, 9-8, in 10 innings. It's safe to say that Crow-Armstrong was happy to get out that stadium.
