Rafa Nadal Supports Florentino Pérez Following Real Madrid Election
Rafa Nadal has shared his perspective on the recent presidential election at Real Madrid, expressing his support for Florentino Pérez's re-election and discussing the club's future leadership. The tennis star, a devoted fan of the team, made his comments during the Battle of the Stars charity golf event.
Addressing the election results, Nadal stated, “The members have voted, both were good candidates, this is democracy and the one who won has won. Florentino is the best president in the history of Real Madrid, his mission is not yet finished and Enrique Riquelme will have time.” Pérez’s tenure has been marked by significant achievements, including numerous domestic and European championships, which have solidified Real Madrid's status as a leading sports powerhouse.
Despite his admiration for Pérez, Nadal also pointed out the inevitability of change, acknowledging that leadership transitions are a natural part of any organization. “Some things have their time. Florentino has been president for 26 years, and time takes its toll on everyone. Florentino will have to stop. Today is today, tomorrow will be tomorrow, and we’ll see what happens in the future. Life evolves, and making predictions years in advance always seems very risky to me,” he remarked.
