Rams Ink Second-Round Tight End Max Klare to Rookie Contract

The Los Angeles Rams have officially signed second-round tight end Max Klare to a four-year rookie contract. Klare becomes the third player from the Rams' five-player draft class to secure a deal, with only first-round quarterback Ty Simpson and seventh-round defensive tackle Tim Keenan III still awaiting contracts.

Selected with the 61st overall pick, Klare made a name for himself while playing three seasons at Purdue before transferring to Ohio State. He now joins a tight ends group that includes Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, and Terrance Ferguson. Last season, the Rams utilized multiple tight ends on nearly 40 percent of their offensive plays.

During his final collegiate season in 2024, Klare recorded 51 receptions for 685 yards and four touchdowns while at Purdue. His performance earned him first-team All-Big Ten honors for his subsequent season at Ohio State, where he amassed 43 catches for 448 yards and two touchdowns. Over the course of 32 games in college, he totaled 116 receptions for 1,329 yards and six touchdowns.
