La Salle and Moses Brown Secure Spots in RIIL Boys Lacrosse Championship

In a thrilling day of semifinals, La Salle and Moses Brown have both secured their places in the 2026 RIIL Boys Lacrosse State Championship. The top-seeded Rams showcased their dominance against No. 4 Hendricken, winning decisively with a score of 19-6, while the second-seeded Quakers overcame No. 3 Barrington with a comfortable 14-2 victory.

La Salle’s performance, while not their best, was more than enough to dismantle Hendricken. The Rams built a substantial 9-2 lead by halftime and extended it further in the second half. Dylan Fitzgerald excelled at the faceoff, winning 18 of 21, while Lachlan Got led the scoring with five goals. Quincy Marino contributed four goals, and several other players added to the tally, ensuring a strong finish for La Salle.

Meanwhile, Moses Brown started off slow but quickly found their rhythm against Barrington. After a brief tie, the Quakers capitalized on a man-up opportunity, scoring several quick goals to take a commanding lead into halftime. Reece Chace and Hugo Harrell each netted four goals, leading Moses Brown to a decisive win that saw them outscore the Eagles 3-0 in the third quarter.

With these results, La Salle is set to face Moses Brown in the state title game on Saturday morning at Brown University, a matchup anticipated by fans given the teams' impressive performances throughout the season.

In related girls' lacrosse action, Westerly and Cumberland advanced to the Division II championship, while Toll Gate and Scituate won their respective semifinals in Division III and Division IV, showcasing the depth of talent in Rhode Island lacrosse this season.
