Raynham's Brody Bumila Leads Bishop Feehan to Dominant Baseball Victory

ATTLEBORO— Brody Bumila, a senior pitcher from Raynham and a highly regarded prospect for the 2026 MLB Draft, helped kick off Bishop Feehan's quest for a Division 1 title on Sunday, May 31. Alongside his teammates, including MIAA Division 1 basketball champions Brody Alves and Jake Webster, Bumila showcased an impressive performance against Andover, leading the No. 2 Shamrocks to an 8-0 victory in the MIAA Division 1 Round of 32.

Bumila delivered a stellar outing, throwing five scoreless innings during which he surrendered only one hit and three walks while accumulating 12 strikeouts. In addition to his pitching prowess, he also made an impact at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs while batting clean-up. His dominance on the mound was evident as he struck out 11 of the first 15 batters he faced, including a streak of six consecutive strikeouts.

Junior second baseman Danny Van Buren managed to break Bumila's strikeout spell with an infield single, marking the sole hit allowed by the towering 6-foot-9 lefty. Bumila’s night concluded after a walk to sophomore right fielder Luke Solomon, followed by a strikeout and a fielder's choice that ended the inning.

With this victory, the Shamrocks move on to the Round of 16, where they are set to host No. 15 Weymouth at Feehan's Beach Field, with the specific date and time yet to be announced. Following this win, Bumila's season statistics reflect his dominance: over a total of 38⅓ innings pitched, he has allowed just five runs (four earned) on three hits and eight walks, while recording an impressive 85 strikeouts. At the plate, he boasts a batting average of .396 with 19 hits, including six doubles and two home runs, along with 11 runs scored and 15 RBIs.
