The Buffalo Sabres are back home Thursday night for Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Montreal Canadiens.

A home playoff game means a special face to bang the drum pregame to start some "Let's go Buffalo" chants.

For Game 2 of the series, Buffalo's last home game, it was the great former goalie Ryan Miller who did the honors.

The Sabres are going back to the former player ranks for Game 5, as well.

Who is the drummer for Sabres' Game 5 tonight?

The Sabres have called upon Jason Pominville to do the honors.

Unlike the secrecy surrounding most of the prior drummers, the Sabres revealed this choice themselves:

Pominville brings with him good Game 5 vibes. He scored the game-winning goal in Game 5 of the 2006 Eastern Conference semifinals to eliminate the Ottawa Senators.

Buffalo can't advance Thursday, but the Sabres can take a 3-2 series lead with a win.

Pominville played 733 of his 1,060 NHL games with Buffalo. He scored 217 regular season goals in a Sabres uniform.

And on this night, he'll get the crowd riled up to try and keep this storybook season going.
