Vote for IndyStar's track and field Athlete of the Week, April 20-26

This past week in Indiana high school track and field was filled with impressive performances.

Here are the nominees for the IndyStar's high school track and field Athlete of the Week for April 20-26. IndyStar readers vote to decide this week's winner. Voting closes at noon on Thursday, April 30. The poll is at the bottom of the article.

Athletes are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

Tate Cheesebrough, Bishop Chatard, Sr.

Cheesebrough placed first in the 110-meter hurdles (15.31) at the Brebeuf Dual on Wednesday, April 22. He also placed second in the pole vault with a score of 12 feet, 8 inches.

Trevon Darden, Perry Meridian, Soph.

Darden earned two first-place wins in the Perry Meridian Dual on Tuesday, April 21. He ran of winning time of 23.25 in the 200 meters and jumped 20 feet, 0.50 inches in the long jump. He also placed third in the 100 meters (11.82).

Sydney Elizondo, Crawfordsville, Jr.

Elizondo earned first place in the high jump (4 feet, 10 inches) and long jump (16 feet, 6 inches) at the Crawfordsville Invite on Thursday April 23.

Mackinlee Frye, Center Grove, Fr.

Frye placed first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:43.59 in the 800 meters at the Center Grove Girls Tri track meet on Thursday, April 23. She also helped Center Grove’s 4x400 relay team win gold.

Isabel Guetig, Cascade, Jr.

Guetig won the 300-meter hurdles (50.29) at the Crawfordsville Invite. She placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (18.43) and third in the long jump (15 feet, 2.50 inches). She also helped Cascade’s 4x400 team place second.

Cameron Kelley, Brebeuf Jesuit, Sr.

Kelley placed first in three events at the Brebeuf Dual. He won the 100 meters (11.22) and long jump (20 feet, 10 inches). He also helped the 4x100 team win gold.

Kennedi Mills, Lawrence North, Soph.

Mills won the high jump at the Center Grove Tri track meet. She recorded a leap of 4 feet, 8 inches. She also placed third in the 400 meters and helped Lawrence North’s 4x400 relay team clinch second place.

Manuela Oke, Brebeuf Jesuit, Jr.

Oke earned three wins at the Brebeuf Dual. She placed first in the 100 meters (13.57) and 200 meters (27.78). She was a member of the 4x100 quartet that won gold. She also placed third in the high jump, individually.

Kaiser Shockley, Fishers, Jr.

Shockley was one of two athletes to secure gold at the Carmel vs. Fishers boys track meet on Thursday, April 23. He ran a time of 10:27.48 in the 3200 meters, about 17 seconds faster than the second-place finisher who ran a 10:44.77.

Carmel freshman Oliver Westbrook is a nominee for the IndyStar's high school track and field athlete of the week.

Oliver Westbrook, Carmel, Fr.

Westbrook secured a trifecta of gold medals in the Carmel vs. Fishers boys track meet. He ran a 19.15 in the 110-meter hurdles and a 47.93 in the 300-meter hurdles. He recorded a leap of 18 feet, 5.50 inches in the long jump. He also placed third in the pole vault (9 feet, 6 inches).
