Nominations for Athlete of the Week and Team of the Week can be sent to high school sports reporter Brandon Holveck at bholveck@delawareonline.com. Please send the name of the team or athlete you would like to nominate and a brief summary of their accomplishments in the past week.
Polls are open to the public with unlimited voting from Monday through Thursday. Winners are announced Friday. Here are this week's nominees:
Saint Mark's softball: Saint Mark's defeated Concord 12-11 in the second round of the DIAA Softball Tournament.
Salesianum boys volleyball: Salesianum defeated Cape Henlopen 3-2 to win its third straight DIAA Boys Volleyball title.
St. Andrew's boys lacrosse: The Saints defeated Caesar Rodney 11-4 in the quarterfinals of the DIAA Boys Lacrosse Tournament.
Wilmington Christian girls soccer: Wilmington Christian defeated Sussex Academy 1-0 in the first round of the DIAA Division II Girls Soccer Tournament.
Wilmington Friends girls soccer: The Quakers defeated Brandywine 9-1 in the first round of the DIAA Division II Girls Soccer Tournament.
