Will Adams of Hoover Earns 2026 Mr. Baseball Title

JACKSONVILLE — Will Adams has been honored as the Mr. Baseball for the 2026 season in Alabama high school baseball. The announcement came during the Alabama Sports Writers Association's summer conference held at Jacksonville State University.

Adams showcased an impressive season, boasting a batting average of .489, with 13 home runs, 46 hits, and 52 RBIs. Alongside him, other players recognized with player of the year honors included Asher Doepel from Hartselle (6A), Hunter Elmore from American Christian Academy (5A), and several others from various classifications.

In the previous year, Steele Hall from Hewitt-Trussville received the award after achieving a .484 average, hitting 14 doubles and eight home runs, along with 35 RBIs and 46 runs scored. Hall was subsequently selected in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds and is now playing for their Rookie Affiliate, the ACL Reds, in 2026.

The 2026 ASWA Super All-State team also highlighted top talents including Adams, Doepel, and Jace Riggan from Hewitt-Trussville, among others.

Since its inception, the ASWA Mr. Baseball award has recognized outstanding players, with past winners like Gunnar Henderson and Riley Quick. Adams' achievement adds his name to a prestigious list of Alabama baseball talent.
