Wisconsin Football Secures Commitment from 3-Star Linebacker Nathan Jones for 2027 Class

MADISON – The University of Wisconsin's initial weekend of official visits proved to be fruitful, as the Badgers welcomed 19 high school athletes. Among the group, six had not yet made a commitment to the program prior to the event. By the conclusion of May 31, two of those players had decided to join Wisconsin's ranks.

Before noon, four-star wide receiver Jai Jones made his commitment public, followed later in the day by Nathan Jones, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker. Jones, who hails from Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Arizona, is a notable addition, particularly as he shares an alma mater with Wisconsin linebacker Jon Jon Kamara.

During his junior year at Notre Dame Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona, Jones recorded an impressive 84 tackles, including 61 solo tackles, 23½ tackles for loss, and 11½ sacks. As a highly regarded three-star recruit, he announced a total of 15 scholarship offers on Instagram, the most recent of which came from Wisconsin on May 8. In addition to the Badgers, he received offers from several other notable programs, including North Carolina, Florida State, Baylor, Kansas State, and Arizona.

With Jones' commitment, the Badgers' 2027 recruiting class now consists of 15 players. As of June 1, this class was ranked 18th nationally by 247Sports and 24th by Rivals/On3.
