This past season proved to be a remarkable one for Bayern Munich, who clinched the double for the first time since 2020. The team not only shattered the domestic goal-scoring record but also experienced just three defeats throughout the campaign. Those losses were at the hands of Arsenal FC and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, along with a surprising defeat to FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

Despite the loss to Augsburg, which finished sixth in the Bundesliga, the defeats against Arsenal and PSG, both of whom reached the final of the 2026 UCL, were seen as indicative of Bayern's competitive stature. Herbert Hainer, the club's president, expressed his pride in the team's performance, noting the high level of competition they faced.

"At FC Bayern, we always aim to win every possible title. Winning the Champions League is, of course, extremely difficult,” he stated, as reported by @iMiaSanMia. “We saw again this season how close it was – we deserved to be in the final, too. The first leg [5-4 loss] against Paris was one of the best games of the past few decades. We only lost two games in this Champions League – against the two finalists. That shows the quality that FC Bayern has and what is possible here.”

Looking ahead, Bayern Munich is hopeful that they can build on this season's successes and strive for even greater achievements in the future.
