SAN ANTONIO (AP) — In a surprising turn of events, a spectator disrupted the flow of Game 1 of the NBA Finals by sprinting onto the court during the fourth quarter, seemingly intent on capturing a selfie with San Antonio’s star player, Victor Wembanyama. The individual entered from the sideline opposite the benches, darting across the court to the offensive side of San Antonio.
Security personnel swiftly intervened, removing the fan from the court within moments. Fortunately, there was no contact made between the fan and Wembanyama or any players from the New York team. The game was paused for approximately one minute before play resumed with a jump ball.
