The next phase in the Delta Center overhaul has already begun.

Smith Entertainment Group, which owns the Delta Center, the Utah Jazz and the Utah Mammoth, among other assets, released its plans Friday morning regarding the overhaul of the arena, which became necessary when the Mammoth arrived.

The goal is to eliminate all single-net-view seats for hockey without compromising the viewing experience for basketball.

Here’s what SEG has planned for the summers of 2026 and 2027.

Delta Center renovations, Summer 2026

The 2026 renovations will focus on the north/northeast end of the arena, which is closest to the home bench for both sports.

SEG’s plan is to install terraces in the upper bowl, creating multi-tiered seating. Renderings shared by SEG appear to show four terraces, beginning above the existing suites on the fourth level of the building.

Additionally, the 2026 renovations include the addition of “gondolas” on both sides of the arena. These are above all the other seats and will hold approximately 200 fans at a time.

The parking garage, which has been under construction since the summer of 2025, will be completed in 2026 as well. According to the information released by the team in April 2025, it will hold approximately 450 vehicles.

Delta Center renovations, Summer 2027

Similar to “The Wall” at the Intuit Dome, where the Los Angeles Clippers play, the 2027 Delta Center renovation phase will connect the lower and upper bowls on the south/southwest end of the arena into one big slope.

That’s the end closest to the visitors’ bench for both hockey and basketball.

“You’re going to feel that intensity from the floor, you know, all the way up, so that that visiting team can really, they can feel the fans right on top of them,” said Jazz president Jim Olson, who oversees the renovation project, in a video shared by SEG. “It’s going to create even a greater home advantage than what we already have.”

The 2027 phase will also include changes to the concession stands and will also increase capacity of the bathrooms and the suites.

Crews will begin an interior design refresh on the suites in 2026, but that won’t be finished until 2027.
