Kansas State Football Secures Commitment from Top Edge Rusher Sedrick Marsh Jr.

MANHATTAN — The Kansas State football program has gained significant traction in its recruitment efforts for the 2027 class by securing a commitment from one of the nation’s highly regarded edge rushers. Sedrick Marsh Jr., standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 230 pounds, took to social media to announce his decision to join the Wildcats on June 10.

Hailing from Waxahachie, Texas, Marsh is a three-star recruit who is recognized as the 43rd best edge rusher in the country according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He chose Kansas State over a competitive field that included prominent programs such as SMU, Oklahoma State, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Baylor.

Marsh visited Kansas State last weekend as part of his official visits and had previously received an offer from the Wildcats in November under the leadership of former head coach Chris Klieman. His commitment marks him as the first true edge rusher to join Collin Klein's 2027 recruiting class, underscoring his importance to the team's defensive lineup.

Last season, Marsh showcased his skills on the field with 32 tackles, including five tackles for loss and two sacks, solidifying his reputation as one of Texas's top defensive ends. As of now, Kansas State holds the 28th spot in the national recruiting rankings and is currently second in the Big 12, trailing only Texas Tech.

This commitment highlights the Wildcats' ongoing efforts to bolster their roster and compete in the upcoming seasons.
