Minnesota Announces 2026 All-State Baseball Teams

On June 15, the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association unveiled the All-State Teams for 2026, celebrating standout players from the recently concluded high school baseball season. A total of seven athletes from the southeastern region of Minnesota have earned this prestigious recognition.

In Class 3A, two seniors from Kasson-Mantorville, Grady Babcock, who has committed to Butler University, and Quinn Weis, were honored for their contributions to the KoMets. They played pivotal roles in leading their team to the Section 1, Class 3A finals, where they were narrowly defeated by the top-seeded Northfield, with a final score of 13-8 on June 3. The KoMets ended their season with a record of 15 wins and 11 losses.

Class 2A saw five players from southeastern Minnesota recognized for their achievements. From Winona Cotter, junior Vince Frisch, who plays as a pitcher and right fielder, alongside senior Dane Guzzo, a pitcher and first baseman committed to St. John's University, were instrumental in securing the Section 1, Class 2A title and advancing to the state semifinals. The Ramblers concluded their season with an impressive overall record of 25-5, finishing fourth after a close semifinal loss to St. Cloud Cathedral, who eventually became state champions, and a defeat in the third-place game against Windom.

Other honorees in Class 2A include Ryan Hjellming, a senior pitcher and shortstop from Cannon Falls, and Hudson Ohm, a senior pitcher and center fielder from Zumbrota-Mazeppa, both of whom have committed to the University of Minnesota. Lake City's Colter Hegge, a senior pitcher and shortstop, has committed to Dakota County Technical College. Hjellming led his team to a championship victory in Section 2, Class 2A, and a state tournament appearance, while Cannon Falls concluded their season at 20-8. Ohm's Cougars finished the spring with a record of 12-11, and Lake City wrapped up their season at 15-10, both teams facing challenges in the Section 1, Class 2A playoffs.
