The New England Patriots surprised the NFL and made it to the Super Bowl at the end of the 2025 season.

What will they do for an encore? It could depend on how aggressive they are this offseason.

One name that has been floated frequently as a target for the Patriots is A.J. Brown, the star wide receiver coming off a bumpy season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler is the latest to suggest such a maneuver.

"Multiple league executives have maintained that Philly will entertain moving him," Fowler writes. "New England feels like a logical destination."

What will it cost? Fowler gives insight into that, too.

"A few teams I consulted believe a trade package including a second-round pick is his true trade value," Fowler writes. "Would that be enough to lure him from Philadelphia? I'm not sure that gets it done for Eagles GM Howie Roseman. But the buzz around Brown isn't dissipating."

That intel adds a fascinating layer.

If Brown is worth a second-round pick, but the Eagles want more than that, does a trade get done at all?

It could depend on what the chatter feels like as the offseason goes along. Does Brown find more ways to express displeasure? If he does, that doesn't help his trade value, but it also doesn't make the Eagles want to keep him.

If the Patriots linger long enough, maybe they find a way to get this trade done.
