The Boston Red Sox took down the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night and beat one of the best pitchers in baseball in the process.

Framber Valdez took the mound for Detroit with a 3.35 ERA in seven starts entering the matchup. Valdez allowed seven earned runs, and 10 runs total, against Boston and now has a 4.57 ERA on the season after three innings of work on Tuesday night

Despite the score, he likely would've gone longer on Tuesday night if he hadn't gotten ejected. After giving up back-to-back homers, Valdez hit Trevor Story with a pitch in the fourth inning on Tuesday and was ejected afterward

After the game, Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy didn't mince his words and called Valdez's actions in the game "weak."

“Yes, I do think so,” Tracy said when asked if he thought Valdez hit Story on purpose. “I thought it was weak and I thought everybody saw it. Their side, our side, I think everybody saw it. It was weak.”

Boston certainly isn't messing around. The best part of the series is that there is still one more game left to go.
