Seahawks Front Office Faces Transition After Super Bowl Triumph

In the realm of professional sports, success often comes with its challenges, particularly the loss of key personnel. The Seattle Seahawks are currently feeling this impact following their recent Super Bowl victory. The team has confirmed that assistant general manager Nolan Teasley has accepted the role of general manager with the Minnesota Vikings.

As reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, "The Vikings agreed to terms with Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley as their general manager." Teasley, known for his impressive acumen as one of the NFL’s rising executives, will now aim to secure a championship for Minnesota, following his success in Seattle.

The Seahawks celebrated their second Super Bowl win on February 8, 2026, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 at Levi’s Stadium. Head coach Mike MacDonald and general manager John Schneider were pivotal figures in this achievement, marking a high point in the franchise's history.

While losing Teasley is a significant setback, Seattle will gain a small advantage. According to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, the Seahawks are set to receive third-round compensatory picks in the next two drafts due to Teasley’s departure.

Historically, the Seahawks have benefited from similar situations, notably when they hired John Schneider as GM from the Green Bay Packers in 2010. This move has since led to a remarkable record of 161 wins against 99 losses, including 11 playoff appearances and two Super Bowl titles.

As the Seahawks look to fill Teasley's position, insiders speculate that the new hire may come from within the organization, with potential candidates including director of pro personnel Willie Schneider, director of college scouting Aaron Hineline, or vice president of player acquisition Matthew Berry.
