Sioux Area 4-H Rodeo Set to Take Place in Mitchell on June 27-28
MITCHELL — Mitchell, South Dakota, is gearing up to host the Sioux Area 4-H Rodeo, an event that is part of the vibrant summer rodeo season in the state. Organized by the Sioux Area Rodeo Club, this regional rodeo will take place at the Horseman's Sports Inc. Rodeo Arena on June 27 and 28, featuring competitions for both senior (ages 14-18) and junior (ages 8-13) participants.
Competitions will kick off each day at 10 a.m., showcasing the skills of young rodeo athletes in a variety of events. This rodeo is notable for being part of a particularly busy weekend in South Dakota's 4-H rodeo calendar, which also includes the Meade County 4-H Rodeo in Faith on June 26, the Perkins County 4-H Rodeo in Bison on June 27-28, the Haakon/Jackson County 4-H Rodeo in Kadoka on June 28, and the Hyde/Hand 4-H Rodeo in Highmore, also on June 28.
Following the Sioux Area 4-H Rodeo, participants can look forward to the Hub 4-H Rodeo, scheduled for July 4-5 in Aberdeen. The season will culminate with the South Dakota 4-H Finals Rodeo, which is set to take place from August 14 to 16 in Fort Pierre.
