SAUL FRAGA-SANDOVAL

School: Fillmore

Year: Junior

Sport: Track and field

Comment: The junior showed off his speed and power at the Citrus Coast League Track and Field Championships last Thursday at Carpinteria High. Fraga-Sandoval won his second straight league title in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.93 seconds and won the 200 in 22.54 seconds. He set a meet record in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 7 inches.

ANNA O’NEIL

School: St. Bonaventure

Year: Junior

Sport: Track and field

Comment: The junior swept the sprints and finished with three titles and one relay crown at the Tri-Valley League Track and Field Championships last Friday at Ventura College. O’Neil won the 100-meter dash in 12.61 seconds and the 200 in 25.63 seconds. She captured the long jump title with a leap of 16 feet, 0.5 inches. O’Neil, Wisdom Moore, Victoria Reneau and Ella Bart won the 4x100 relay title in 51.35 seconds.
