Washington QB Demond Williams Jr. Returns to Elite 11 Finals as Counselor

Three years ago, Demond Williams Jr. captivated talent scouts and secured his place as an Elite 11 Finalist. Today, the former Basha High School standout and current starting quarterback for the Washington Huskies has returned to the prestigious summer event in Los Angeles, this time serving as a counselor alongside fellow college players.

While Blake Roskopf, a four-star quarterback from Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Arizona, who is also committed to Washington, is absent from the gathering of high school quarterbacks, Williams Jr. is joined by Cal sophomore Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele and Auburn senior Byrum Brown. Together, they are mentoring some of the nation’s top high school quarterbacks while also engaging in various competitive drills.

This isn't Williams Jr.'s first experience as a camp counselor; he has previously participated in the Manning Passing Academy at Nicholls State University in Louisiana. He credits these experiences with helping him refine his skills since entering college in 2024.

Interestingly, both Williams Jr. and sophomore Elijah Brown, a recent transfer from Stanford, were among the eight Elite 11 Finalists in 2023. This talented group included notable quarterbacks like Julian Sayin, who won the Elite 11 MVP award the same summer that Williams Jr. and Brown competed for the title.

As he embarks on his second full season as Washington's starting quarterback under head coach Jedd Fisch in 2026, Williams Jr. looks to build on a strong performance from the previous year. He finished second in the Big Ten Conference with an average of 282.8 total yards per game, leading the Huskies to a 9-4 record, a significant improvement over the team's performance in 2024.
