Who will run in Preakness 2026? Golden Tempo among horses to watch

Here’s a list of horses considered possible to run in the $2 million, Grade 1 Preakness on May 16 at Laurel Park in Laurel, Maryland.

The Preakness was moved to Laurel Park because renovations at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

The Preakness draw is set for 5 p.m. on Monday, May 11.

Horses are listed in alphabetical order:

Cherokee Nation

Trainer: Bob Baffert.

Jockey: TBA.

Sire: Not This Time.

Record: 1-2-0 in seven starts.

Last race: Sixth in Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby on April 4.

Chip Honcho

2026 Kentucky Derby horse Chip Honcho works at Churchill Downs. The horse has had two wins, two second-place finishes and one fourth place finish in five races. Luis Saez is slated to ride him. April 21, 2026
